Using the UVO menu (if equipped)


You can use UVO services via the UVO menu in your system.
On the All Menus screen, press UVO.
  1. Call the UVO Center for vehicle towing and other services. > See ″Contacting roadside assistance.″
  1. Check your vehicle for any issues and view the diagnosis. > See ″Diagnosing your vehicle.″
  1. Call the UVO Center to request help or make inquiries about using UVO services. > See ″Contacting the UVO Center.″
  1. Access UVO services to use it in your system or access modem information.
Warning
Distracted driving can result in a loss of vehicle control, leading to an accident, severe bodily injury, or death. The driver′s primary responsibility is the safe and legal operation of the vehicle, and the use of any vehicle systems, including the touch screen and steering wheel controls, which take the driver′s eyes, attention, and focus away from the safe operation of the vehicle, or which are not permissible by law, should never be used during the operation of the vehicle.
Note
Use the UVO features in the system when your vehicle is parked with the engine running.

Contacting roadside assistance

If you encounter a disabled vehicle or other problems while on the road, you can contact the UVO Center directly for roadside assistance, vehicle towing or service.
On the All Menus screen, press UVO > Roadside Assist or press the [] button on the inside rear view mirror.
Note
Depending on the network connection, this feature may not work correctly.

Diagnosing your vehicle

If you are curious about whether or not there is a problem with your vehicle, you can perform a vehicle diagnosis. With a vehicle diagnosis, you can schedule maintenance.
  1. Park your vehicle in a safe location.
Note
You can start a diagnosis only when the vehicle stops, because some components cannot be diagnosed while the vehicle is moving.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press UVO > Vehicle Diagnostics.
  1. A remote diagnosis will begin.
Note
Refrain from using your system until the diagnosis is complete and the result is displayed on the screen. If you move to another screen while a diagnosis is in progress, the diagnosis will be canceled.
  1. Check the result displayed on the screen.
  1. Schedule maintenance at your preferred Kia dealership or the nearest one.
  1. Call the UVO Center for roadside assistance.
  1. To close the pop-up window and return to the diagnosis results list, press Close.
Note
  • A diagnosis result provided by this service is only an estimated result based on the signals from your vehicle. Visit one of our authorized service centers for a detailed diagnosis.
  • If a critical issue is detected with your vehicle, an automatic diagnosis will start and a warning light will display in the instrument cluster. You will be notified of the diagnosis result.
  • Your preferred dealership must be registered on Owners.kia.com for you to schedule maintenance with it.

Contacting the UVO Center

You can contact a UVO Center customer care representative directly to request help or to inquire about using UVO services.
On the All Menus screen, press UVO > Virtual Assistant or press the [] button on your inside rear view mirror.
  • When connected to the UVO Center, ask a representative for the service you need.
  • To end the call, press End on the screen or press the [] button.
Note
This feature is not available during a Bluetooth call.

Configuring the UVO settings

You can access the settings and information for UVO services.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press UVO > UVO Settings.
  1. Select a desired option.
  1. To subscribe to the UVO service, press Activate UVO.
  2. To view the modem information, press Modem Information.
  3. To view the modem status, press Modem Status.
  4. To turn on or off the 911 Connect feature, press 911 Connect (if equipped).
