Using the UVO eServices menu (if equipped)


You can use UVO services via the UVO eServices menu in your system.
On the All Menus screen, press UVO eServices.
  1. Return to the previous level.
  1. Display the options list.
  1. Display Off: Turn off the screen. Press the screen to turn it back on.
  2. User′s Manual on Web (QR Code): View the QR code for access to the web manual.
  1. Call the UVO eServices Center for vehicle towing and other services. > See ″Contacting roadside assistance.″
  1. Check your vehicle for any issues and view the diagnosis. > See ″Diagnosing your vehicle.″
  1. Get alerts and driving history for curfews and speed alerts. > See ″Using My Car Zone.″
  1. View the location where your vehicle is currently parked. > See ″Viewing parking location.″
  1. Download the points of interest saved in MyUVO. > See ″Downloading the points of interest saved in MyUVO.″
  1. Call the UVO eServices Center to request help or make inquiries about using UVO eServices. > See ″Contacting the UVO eServices Center.″
  1. View and change the settings and information for UVO eServices.
Warning
Distracted driving can result in a loss of vehicle control, leading to an accident, severe bodily injury, or death. The driver′s primary responsibility is the safe and legal operation of the vehicle, and the use of any vehicle systems, including the touch screen and steering wheel controls, which take the driver′s eyes, attention, and focus away from the safe operation of the vehicle, or which are not permissible by law, should never be used during the operation of the vehicle.
Note
Use the UVO eServices features in the system when your vehicle is parked with the engine running.

Contacting roadside assistance

If there is any issues in the vehicle, you can connect with a Roadside Assist agent. The Roadside Assist feature can be used only when your phone is connected via Bluetooth.
On the All Menus screen, press UVO eServices > Roadside Assist.
Note
Depending on the smartphone′s network connection, this feature may not work correctly.

Diagnosing your vehicle

Vehicle Diagnostics is available only when the ignition is turned on and the vehicle is parked. It also requires that UVO eServices is activated, and the smartphone is connected via USB cable before starting Vehicle Diagnostics.

Conducting vehicle diagnosis

  1. Park your vehicle in a safe location.

Depending on the vehicle model or specifications, you may need to ensure your vehicle is parked before performing a diagnosis.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press UVO eServices > Vehicle Diagnostics.
  1. When a diagnostics check is in progress, keep the vehicle in park with the ignition on. To cancel diagnostics, press Cancel on the touch screen or any hardkey.
  1. Check the result displayed on the screen.
  1. Schedule maintenance at your preferred Kia dealership or the nearest one.
  1. Send diagnostic results to your UVO eServices account.
  1. To close the pop-up window and return to the diagnosis results list, press Close.
Note
  • The screen messages differ based on the vehicle diagnostics severity. Ensure your phone is connected to the system via USB cable before using Schedule Service and Send Report.
  • A diagnosis result provided by this service is only an estimation based on data from your vehicle. Visit a Kia dealership for a detailed diagnosis.
  • If a critical issue is detected with your vehicle, an automatic diagnosis will start. You will be notified of the diagnosis result.
  • Your preferred dealership must be registered on Owners.kia.com for you to schedule maintenance with it.

Scheduling service

When scheduling an appointment using Schedule Service, press Preferred to request an appointment with your preferred Kia dealer and send your vehicle′s diagnostics information. Press Nearest to request an appointment with the nearest Kia dealer and send your vehicle′s diagnostics information.
Request an appointment with your preferred or nearest Kia Dealer and send your vehicle′s diagnostics data.

Sending diagnostic results to your UVO eServices account

  1. On the vehicle diagnostics result screen, press Send Report.
  1. Vehicle Diagnostics Data is transmitted to your account and you can see the report on Owners.kia.com.
  1. Even if diagnostic issues are not found after Vehicle Diagnostics, it is recommended that you send the diagnostic results to your UVO eServices account.

Scheduling Diagnostics

If you have set up Scheduled Diagnostics on your UVO eServices App, a vehicle diagnostics check will automatically start on the day you selected.
On the date of the Scheduled Diagnostics, the following window will be displayed.
  1. Press Yes to proceed with diagnostics.
  1. Press Send Report to see the Vehicle Health Report on Owners.kia.com.

Automated diagnostic system

If a critical diagnostics issue with your vehicle′s powertrain is detected, Automatic Diagnostics will be notified.

Using My Car Zone

My Car Zone is a feature that provides alerts and driving history for Curfew Limit Alerts, Speed Alerts, and Geo Fence Alerts set by the user.
Curfew Limit Alert
Curfew Limit Alerts are alerts that are triggered when a driver is driving within a predefined time range.
Speed Alert
Speed Alerts are alerts that are triggered when a driver exceeds the predefined maximum speed.
Geo Fence Alert
Geo Fence Alerts are alerts that are triggered when a driver enters into a predefined geographical location.
Note
My Car Zone features are supported only when UVO eServices has been activated.
On the All Menus screen, press UVO eServices > My Car Zone.

You can check the Curfew Limit Alert history for a list of past triggered curfew alerts.
  1. Name of phone connected upon triggered curfew limit
  1. Initial alert time
  1. Total duration of driving while curfew limit was triggered
  1. Total driving time from turning ignition on until turning ignition off

Speed Alert

You can check the Speed Alert history for triggered speed limit alerts of the vehicle.
  1. Name of phone connected upon triggered speed limit alert
  1. Maximum vehicle speed upon triggered speed limit alert
  1. Time from first triggered alert until last triggered alert
  1. Total triggered alert time from turning ignition on to turning ignition off
Note
To check My Car Zone alert history from your smartphone, you must first send the alert history to your UVO eServices account.

Geo Fence Alert

You can check the Geo Fence Alert history for triggered Geo Fence alerts of the vehicle.
  1. Name of phone connected upon triggered geo fence alert
  1. Initial alert time
  1. Center location address
  1. Radius from set geo fence address
To check My Car Zone alert history from your smartphone, you must first send the alert history to your UVO eServices account.
Press > Send Data.
Note
Before using Send Data, ensure your phone is connected to the UVO eServices system via USB cable.

Viewing parking location

The location where your vehicle is currently parked can be sent to your smartphone.
Ensure that your smartphone is connected via USB and the UVO eServices App is running before using this feature.
  1. Park your vehicle in a safe location.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press UVO eServices > Parking Minder.
  1. Once the parking location has been sent, you can view your vehicle′s location from the UVO eServices App on your smartphone.
Note
  • When the parking location is being sent, do not drive the vehicle. Ensure that you have logged into the UVO eServices App, and your phone is connected to the multimedia system via USB cable.
  • When ignition is turned off while the phone is connected via USB, Parking Minder can be transferred automatically if the option is set up in UVO eServices Settings.

Downloading the points of interest saved in MyUVO

You can download the POIs from MyUVO via your smartphone.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press UVO eServices > My POIs.
  1. Press Update.

Contacting the UVO eServices Center

You can contact a UVO eServices Center customer care representative directly to request help or to inquire about using UVO eServices.
This feature is only available when the mobile phone is connected via Bluetooth.
On the All Menus screen, press UVO eServices > eServices Guide.
  • When connected to the UVO eServices Center, ask a representative for the service you need.
  • To end the call, press End on the screen.
Note
This feature is not available during a Bluetooth call.

Setting the UVO eServices

You can change the settings for the UVO eServices.
On the All Menus screen, press eServices Settings.

For safety reasons, My Car Zone Settings cannot be adjusted while driving. Park the vehicle before making any changes to your settings.
