Activating Navigation

Starting Navigation

1. Press [HOME] on the front seat control key or press []. The home screen opens.
2. Press [Map] or Press [MAP] on the head unit. The map screen opens.

Current Location Specification

Press [MAP] on the head unit while using the system specifies the current vehicle location and the map of the surrounding area.

Simple Navigation Feature

Simple navigation features are listed for easy access to frequently used features.

Moves to the simple navigation screen if you press the touchpad on front seat control key.

• [Home]: A route to the location saved as Home is advised.
• [Office]: A route to the location saved as Office is advised.
• [Previous Destinations]: Select previous destination to have a route advised to the selected destination.
• [Search]: Search destinations by entering the full name or initial, phone number or address.
• [POI Categories]: Search for the POI Category.
• [Saved Places]: Set a saved place to a destination.
• [Nearby POIs]: Set the facilites category displayed on the map screen.

Changing Map View

The Map is displayed based on the vehicle direction or the North direction.

Map View change is available by pressing [] pop-up on the map screen.

• [] (North up 2D): Map is displayed always having the top directs the North regardless the vehicle’s heading direction.
• [] (Heading up 2D): Map is displayed always having the vehicle’s heading direction pointing up.
• [] (Heading up 3D): Map displays buildings in 3D.
• [] (Neon 3D): Map displays buildings in 3D Neon.
• [] (AR): SVM front cameras display navigation and ADAS information as augmented reality.

,Note

Augmented reality is available on the vehicle which is SVM (Surround View Monitor) option. Augmented reality may differ from actual one due to the condition of the camera lens or external environment. Drive carefully. The information and warnings displayed in augmented reality may be inaccurate. Drive carefully. The information and warnings displayed in augmented reality may cause delays compared to the reality. If you select Neon 3D on the pop-up, Neon white screen is displayed during the daytime and Neon screen is displayed at night.

Switching Map Scale

Manually Switching Map Scale

Rotate Controller on the Front to Left/Right or zoom in/out with your finger on the map screen to change the map scale.

Automatically Switching Map Scale

The map scale can be automatically set/canceled according to the current vehicle speed.

Press []/[] on the map screen.

• [] (Auto Inactivation): Fixed scale
• [] (Auto Activation): Automatic scale (Scale changes based on the current vehicle speed)

Navigation Volume

Sets the volume of voice guidance of navigation.

1. Press [] on the map screen.

2. Select a desired item.

• Press []/[] to control the volume.
• []: Voice guidance activation.
• []: Voice guidance mute.
• []: Sound effect activation.
• []: Sound effect mute.
• []: Displays the volume level of voice guidance and sound effect. Move it to the left or right to adjust the volume level.
• [Navigation Volume Priority]: If you hear navigation guidance while listening to media, turn down the media volume.

,Note

When the voice and the sound effect are muted, the navigation volume button on the map screen is muted. However, when one of them is activated only, it is displayed as a speaker icon.

Navigation Settings

1. Press [Menu] > [Navigation Settings] on the map screen.

2. For more details, refer to the "Navigation settings".

Location Sharing

The location information can be shared for a set time period to another person by entering his/her phone number.

1. Press [Menu] > [Location Sharing] on the map screen.
2. For more details, refer to the "Location Sharing".

,Note

Kia Connect subscription is required to use Location Sharing. Location Sharing may not be accurate on the location depending on the vehicle and/or network environment.

Previous Destinations Settings

When the navigation starts, Popup display of previous and frequent destinations automatically opens for approx. 10 seconds. During the opening, pressing a destination and selecting a desired route start the guidance. (Available only when no route is set)

• [Frequently Visited Points]: Shows frequently visited destinations.
• [Previous Destinations]: Shows previous destinations.
• Check the box “Deactivate this pop-up” to stop the popup of previous destinations. The setting is also available with [Previous Destinations Settings] in Navigation Settings.

Registering Location

The current vehicle locations can be registered.

1. Press [Menu] > [Save] on the map screen.

2. Press a desired item.

• [Name]: After editing the name, Press [OK].
• [Display Icon on Map]: Sets a symbol to specify on the map screen.
• [Favorites]: You can set the location as Home, Work, Favorites, or Saved Places.
• [Location Sharing]: Sets the location sharing.

3. Press [Save].

,Note

Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] > [Favorite], [Saved Places] to check the registered location.

POI

Setting POI Display

Sets to display the POI Category on the map screen.

1. Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [Show POI Icons] on the map screen.

2. Select a facility to mark on the map screen.

Searches POI Categories

1. Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [POI Categories] on the map screen.

2. Press a desired item.

3. Select a desired list.

• [Along Route]: Facility search in neighboring area of route.
• [Near Current Position]: Facility search in neighboring area of the current vehicle location.
• [Near Destination]: Facility search in neighboring area of destination or waypoint.
• [Near Center of Map]: Facility search in neighboring area of selected location.

Searching Scenic Route

1. Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [POI Categories] on the map screen.

2. Press [Scenic route].

• [All]: Displays all scenic route.
• [Near Current Position]: Displays the scenic route in neighboring area of the current vehicle location.
• [Near Destination]: Displays the scenic route in neighboring area of destination.
• [Favorite Course]: Displays the favorite scenic route.
• []: Saves the scenic route as a [Favorite Course].

Setting Scenic Route

Press [Menu] > [Nearby Info.] > [Scenic Route] on the map screen.

Home, Work, Favorites

Home, Office or a frequently visited location can be saved/edited in or deleted from favorites.

Saving Favorite Places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press a desired item.

3. Use search menu to set Home, Work, Favorite 1, Favorite 2 or Favorite 3.

4. When setting is completed, press [OK].

Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] > [Favorites] to check Home, Work, Favorite 1, Favorite 2 or Favorite 3. Reference "Setting a destination by Saved Places” for setting of Home, Office, Favorite 1, Favorite 2 or Favorite 3.

Editing Favorite Places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] > [Favorites] > [Menu] > [Edit] on the map screen.
2. Select an item to edit.

3. Select and edit a desired item.

• [Display Icon on Map]: Sets a symbol to specify on the map screen.
• [Favorites]: You can set the location as Home, Work, Favorites, or Saved Places.
• [Location Sharing]: Sets the location sharing.

4. Press [Save].

Deleting Favorite Places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] > [Favorites] > [Menu] > [Delete] on the map screen.

2. Select the desired item, Press [Delete].

• [Mark All]: Selects all items.
• [Unmark All]: Unmarks all items.
• [Cancel]: Exits screen.

Saving/Editing/Deleting saved places

Saving a interested location enables convenient setting of destinations and editing/deleting registered locations.

Saving places to the saved place

Saves frequently visited locations.

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on address book screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Add].
4. Set a desired location by using search menu.

5. When setting is completed, press [OK].

Refer to "Setting a destination by Saved Places" to set a registered location as a destination.

Editing saved places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on address book screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Edit].
4. Select an item to edit.

5. Select and Edit a desired item.

• [Name]: After editing the name, Press [OK].
• [Display Icon on Map]: Sets a symbol to specify on the map screen.
• [Favorites]: Changes the address book.
• [Location Sharing]: Sets the location sharing.

6. Press [Save].

Sorting saved places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on address book screen.

3. Press [Menu] > [Name] or [Date] to sort the list.

• [Name]: Locations are sorted in alphabetical order.
• [Date]: Locations are sorted in date order.

Deleting Registered My places

1. Press [Menu] > [Destination] > [Saved Places] on the map screen.
2. Press [Saved Places] on address book screen.
3. Press [Menu] > [Delete].

4. Select the desired item, Press [Delete].

• [Mark All]: Selects all items.
• [Unmark All]: Unmarks all items.
• [Cancel]: Exits screen.

Managing saved places

Importing Saved Places/Previous Destinations from USB Memory

This feature is used to import saved places and previous destinations in a USB memory.

1. Connect a USB Memory to the USB port.
2. Press [Setup] > [Navigation] > [Nav. Auto. Features] > [User Data] > [Import Saved Places/Previous Destinations to USB] on the home screen.

3. Press [Yes].

4. Press [OK]. Press [View] to check the imported registered location.

Exporting Saved Places/Previous Destinations to USB Memory

This feature is used to export saved places and previous destinations to a USB memory.

1. Connect a USB Memory to the USB port.
2. Press [Setup] > [Navigation] > [Nav. Auto. Features] > [User Data] > [Export Saved Places/Previous Destinations to USB] on the home screen.

3. Press [Yes].

,Note

The data amount to import from a USB memory is limited based on the number of registered locations supported by the navigation device. If the data saved in the USB memory uses different coordinates from the ones used in the current system, the coordinates of registered locations may change. Import feature may change previously saved registered locations as well as Favorites in the navigation device. Use after checking if the import feature has been normally performed is recommended. Import/Export feature may not be supported depending on the USB Memory Format Type. FAT16, FAT32, exFAT and NTFS are supported. Some USB memories may not be supported due to compatibility issues.

Accident Alert

Enables avoidance of any traffic jam or accident in an area by construction/gathering by specifying the corresponding information and location. The received TPEG Notices are listed.

1. Press [NAV] on the head unit and then [TPEG] > [Accident Alert]. Or press [Navigation Menu] > [TPEG] > [Accident Alert] on the home screen.

2. Press [Menu] > [Category] > [Accident], [Construction], [Airbag], [Uneven Road], [Slippery Road] or [ETC] to set alert on accident, construction or other events.
3. When the list is selected, move to the corresponding location and check on the detail information are available. [Detour] feature can be used if any accident happens on the route.

,Note

If an accident happens on the route under the current guidance, the screen switches to accident information screen and enables the search avoiding the accident. Accident alert is specified as a symbol on the map screen. Checks the contents of each notice on the detail information screen.
