UVO services (if equipped)


UVO provides connected car services, such as roadside assistance and emergency rescue, via the latest IT and communication technologies.
Once subscribed, you can access UVO services via the buttons on your inside rear view mirror. You can also access other useful features using the UVO menu on your system.
Note
  • You must be an active UVO subscriber or within the initial free trial period to receive UVO services.
  • Depending on conditions, such as the vehicle type, the system type, or the subscribed service package, available services may vary.
  • Some services may incur additional charges.
  • Services may be modified, added, or deleted according to changes in the company′s policies.

Service limitations

Because the UVO services are provided via mobile networks, use of the service may be restricted depending on the mobile network status. Check the network signal icon () at the top line of the screen to see if the network signal strength is adequate.
Note
  • It is recommended to use the service when the network signal icon has more than four signal bars.
  • Depending on the network signal status, access to UVO may be restricted in the following locations:
  • In a building or tunnel
  • In a mountain or dense forest
  • On a road close to cliffs
  • In an area with a lot of high buildings
  • On a highway or a road under an overpass
  • Out of a service area based on the mobile network service provider′s coverage policy

Activating the service

You must activate UVO to use it on the system. An account with www.kiaconnect.ca is required to activate the service. When you do not have an account, create a new account to activate the service. When you already have an account, enter your account information registered on www.kiaconnect.ca.
Caution
Do not stop the engine while the activation is in progress. Doing so may cause a system malfunction.
  1. Park your vehicle in a safe location.
Note
You cannot enter information for service activation while your vehicle is moving.
  1. On the All Menus screen, press UVO > UVO Settings > Feature Enrollment.
  1. Read the terms of use and press Agree > Next.
  1. Enter your email address and password.
  1. If you have a registered account, press Existing Account and enter your email address and password.
  1. Press Submit.
  1. Activation will begin.
Note
  • While the activation is in progress, the system buttons will be locked.
  • If the activation fails, contact Kia Customer Assistance Center at 1-877-542-2886.
  • Activating this service only allows you to use safety features such as roadside assistance and/or emergency services. In order to use all services provided by UVO, visit www.kiaconnect.ca.
  • If your UVO service has expired, you can reactivate by renewing your subscription at www.kiaconnect.ca and entering your email address and password again in the Feature Enrollment menu.
