Cautions when connecting bluetooth device

Pairing and connecting bluetooth device (mobile phone) to head unit

When there Is no device paired to head unit (new pairing)

  1. Press the [W] button on the steering wheel remote control or press [Phone] on the all menus screen.

  1. Search for and select the vehicle name on the bluetooth device pairing screen. (The initial vehicle name is displayed like K7.)

  1. Approve pairing on your bluetooth device (mobile phone).

  • The default vehicle name is set to like K7 and the default authentication number to “0000.”
  • Depending on the bluetooth device, an authentication number may or may not be required.
  1. When you complete authentication on the mobile phone, the contacts and recent call records in the device are downloaded.

Once connection is made between the phone and head unit, pressing [Phone] on the all menus screen will bring up the recent calls list on the screen.

,Reference

  • Every time a Bluetooth device is paired to the head unit, an attempt is made to download the contacts and recent calls list from the device.
  • If you click “No” in the pop-up window when phone book download fails, the download pop-up window does not appear. (If you change the contact denial from the smartphone to allow, the phonebook/call history downloads when the device reconnects.)
  • If downloading of contacts and recent calls list fails, check the bluetooth connection setting on the mobile phone. If it is set to OFF, set it to ON, and then connect the device again.
  • If you want to use the text messages function, allow access to text messages in your mobile phone settings.

When phone is already paired

If the mobile phone you want to connect to the head unit is already paired to it, you can use the [SETUP] button to make connection.

  1. press [SETUP] > [Device Connections] > [Device Connections] > [Add New].

,Reference

  • Up to five bluetooth devices can be paired to the head unit.
  • Only one bluetooth device can be connected to the head unit at a time.
  • New registration is possible after disconnecting the bluetooth-connected device.
  • The supported functions are bluetooth hands-free, text messages, contacts and bluetooth audio.
  • The following pop-up window appears if you delay entering the authentication number or if pairing fails. Press [Close] and retry pairing.

Changing device

You can connect the head unit to a different bluetooth device that is already paired to the unit.

  1. On the phone screen, press [ICON_MENU_1_1.png] > [Change Device].
  2. Device change is executed within the device for which Bluetooth is registered.

,Reference

  • You can press [ICON_CHANGE_1.png] on the screen to change devices.
  • If two bluetooth devices are registered and one of them is connected, pressing the button will disconnect the connected device and try to connect to the other device.
  • If there are 3 or more registered devices, the device list list pops up and user selection is possible.

Disconnecting device

  1. Press [All Menus] > [Setup] > [Device Connections] > [Device Connections] on the home screen.
  2. Press [Disconnect] on the device that is currently connected.

  1. Press [Yes].
  2. To connect the device again, press [Connect].

Deleting Device

  1. Press [Setup] > [Device Connections] > [Device Connections] on the all menus screen.

  1. Press [Delete Device(s)], select a device to delete and press [Delete] > [Yes].

Deleting a device also deletes its recent calls list, contacts and text messages list saved in the head unit.
